Customer Reviews

Not liking these so much.So the overall reviews here are very favorable. However, I disagree. Initially I was pleased with the texture. I much prefer plastic cards and I was curious if these were the same as the Da Vinci "Neve." I love the rider design on the back. However, the cards feel very artificial. They are certainly stiffer than the Neve cards. They have a certain texture to them, but that too feels artificial. When you shuffle the sound of friction between the cards is very loud, and yet they do slide well against each other.Between the "Ruote" and the "Neve" I much prefer the Neve cards. If you like stiff Italian playing cards, you may actually prefer the Modiano Cristallo. My all time favorite is still the Dal Negro Treviso. I'm waiting on the Dal Negro "circle backs," and am very excited to obtain these as I only have a sample card.If you prefer plastic cards there are all kinds of options including, Copag, Dal Negro, Modiano, Da Vinci, and several others. Unfortunately the only way to know is to try them, either at a friend's game or just by buying a deck of each. They are probably all better than paper, but everyone will have their favorites. 3Very Sturdy Playing CardsI originally purchased the cards because they were plastic and cheaper than Copaq's. However, after playing with them for several weeks in my poker league I have found them to be very sturdy and resistant to bends. We do self deal and they are easier to deal from the end of the table and do not flip over like other plastic cards. I highly recommend them. The next time I buy cards it will be the Da Vinci Itilian cards. 5All aroud these cards are a better deal.I have tried the two other major brands of cards and found that these are much better than the rest. The feel of them is softer and definitely more flexible and easy to shuffle.Update to my Review,Since my first review I have purchased around 12 or so of these decks. I belong to a group of 20 guys that play for medium stakes poker (5/10 ante no limit). I used to buy the other famous brand "C---G" and there is no comparison. These are a slightly thinner and more flexible card. They do not chip nor crack like their competitors cards. The only problem that I have is that the ink starts to wear thin after around a month of play (we play a 4 to 5 times a week for about 8-10 hours at a time). All I can say is that if you are looking for the BEST card you can play is to buy these. Don't pay more or less, these are for you.I was "NOT" paid or given any discount for my review. 5Very nice plastic cards with just a couple of small niggles...I have long history with paper, KEM, and COPAQ playing cards, and up to this point, I have ordered COPAQ exclusively. I decided to give these Da Vinci's a try due to the lower cost, and for the most part, I have not been disappointed. The cards come in a nice hard plastic case, and include two jokers for each deck, a cut card for each deck, and a reorder card for damaged or lost cards. Excellent.Handling the cards, I found them somewhat stiffer than I am used to with my COPAQ's, but that may loosen up in time. They also seem to be somewhat thicker than other cards, and as result have the feeling of a hard edge in hand while dealing. Both of these issues may resolve with time and use. It remains to be seen.Shuffling was a little stiff, but not a problem. Riffling half to half worked well.Overall, I'm happy with the cards, and if they loosen up with use, they may become my standard. The back design is really nice, and the faces are clear and appropriately poker jumbo.Recommended, especially at the great price! 4Fantastic sets of cardsThese are my first sets of plastic cards, and I adore them. I got a hair to get better playing cards after my young boys wanted a deck of cards and I picked up your basic plastic coated paper Bicycle deck for like $5. That deck showed significant wear after like 1 week! So I wanted to get something better, and arrived at these awesome decks. I did a TON of research prior to buying these. I read user reviews on Amazon, I read opinion threads in card playing forums and Reddit s, and I read reviews on sites dedicated to reviewing decks of playing cards. The brands that consistently arose as quality plastic cards were Copag, KEM, Fournier, Dal Negro, and Modiano. Da Vinci, I learned, are made by Modiano. These specific sets of Da Vinci s are apparently the exact same thing as Modiano Bike Trophy Jumbo - Red and Blue. After research, it came down to Copag and these for me, and I settled on these solely because I discovered a friend had Copags - I figured I could always check those out and compare. I couldn t be happier with the decision. The sets come in a sturdy plastic case that houses both decks, along with 1 red cut card and 1 black cut card. Each deck has 2 jokers, as well as a card with instructions on ordering individual replacement cards should the need arise. If you are new to plastic playing cards, they do have a different feel and they handle differently than the paper coated plastic you re likely accustomed to. But these decks have a sort of a semi rough finish to them that make them easier to handle and shuffle. The card face designs are really nice, from the face cards to the numbered cards offset by a tan or beige rectangular box surrounding the pips. The only negative I have for these decks is the joker design. I m just not a fan of the artwork, but it s a very small nitpick. I m certain there are card authorities out there, and I m not one of them. I m just average joe card playing guy who wanted something better than paper coated plastic. If that sounds like you, and you re reading and researching, do not hesitate to purchase these cards. They are of high quality, will last infinitely longer than normal cards, and they look and feel great! 5Great gift for the cards enthusiastMy brother-in-law is an avid poker player, with he and the group taking turns hosting the games, and he always needs good cards on hand. He's Italian, and when I saw these I said YO! Lookadat! These were among the gifts I got for him at Christmas, and they have received a stamp of approval, not only from him, but the entire group! These guys don't usually agree on anything except Italian food. He told me "I done good". 5Monthly Tournament Host - Great cards for the money!I host a big monthly tournament with 32 players, and house games every other weekend. I had been using Copags for the last few years, but after trying these for the first time late last year, I am replacing my Copag decks with these. For several reasons:- They are a really good buy- The players all like them- The printing does not fade or bleed like some of my Copags- They seem to have a better "feel" in the hand than the CopagsOverall, very good cards. I can't see spending twice as much on KEM's. 4Good quality, but a little smaller than normal.Cards seem to be a very high quality. They are very strong so far. We will see what they look like after a few dozen games. One thing I do not like is the cards are a fraction smaller than what I am used to using. 4Stop reading and buy these.Amazing quality cards! Do not hesitate to buy these, if you're looking for something more durable than paper. I run a weekly and monthly poker game, so we play 5-6 times per month. Bicycle cards would last 2-3 games, but these cards have been going strong for 3 months and haven't even needed cleaning yet. The texture is incredible. I was worried that plastic cards wouldn't slide easily, which is why I liked the Bicycle cards with the "air cushion" texture, but these still slide about when stacked in a deck. They feel great, easy to shuffle and deal, and haven't bent, curled or marked at all in 3 months of heavy use. 5Great value for the money. These are not the best cards I've ever used, but they're great for the price. Very durable. They hold up great for a weekend poker game. If you're using them more often, you might want something more professional. 5
